He has an MPA from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, B.E. (Chem) & M.E. (Systems & Information) from BITS Pilani. His most recent stint was at The/Nudge as Managing Director, Alliances & Government partnerships.

Prof S Sadagopan is Chairman, BoG, IIITDM-Kancheepuram, and the Founding Director, IIIT-Bangalore (1999 to 2021). He obtained his MS & Ph.D. Degree from Purdue University, USA in 1979 and his BE (Hon) Degree from Madras University, India in 1973. He taught for 25+ years at IIT Kanpur, IIM Bangalore, IIT Madras, and IIIT Bangalore, and short teaching assignments at RUTGERS, USA, and AIT, Bangkok. He serves on the boards of Bharat Electronics, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Indian Renewable Energy Agency, IIIT Bhubaneswar, IIIT-Delhi, and IBAB. Prof. Sadagopan is a Member of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission, Chief Minister’s Vision Group on IT, NASSCOM Regional Council, and ISA Executive Council. He is the Chair of the IEEE Computer Society, Bangalore Chapter, and a Member of ACM India Council. He is also a Member of the WWW Conference Committee (W3CC). Prof. Sadagopan is a Fellow of the UK’s IET (formerly IEE), Computer Society of India, and Institution of Engineers (India). Prof Sadagopan was recently feted by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Basavaraj Bommai at the recently concluded Bangalore Tech Summit (Nov 2022) with a Silver Jubilee Felicitation acknowledging his significant contribution to the domains of Policy, Industry, and Technology.

Before this, he served as a Professor of Computer Science and Dean of Distance Learning at BITS, Pilani.
